$1000 Donation to Rainbow Lake Nursery School
julie_matthews (5K)
Edmonton Global TV's Troubleshooter:
Julie Matthews
On December 18th, Edmonton Global TV's Troubleshooter, Julie Matthews, ran a story about the Rainbow Lake Nursery School, in a community of around 1000 people located in the remote North-West of Alberta. You can see the story here on her website titled "Faulty Fundraiser".

The Rainbow Lake Nursery School is a not-for-profit organisation just like us and they were recently robbed of $1000 by a phony fundraising business in Ontario. The school has 25 students and with an operating budget about 1/3 of ours, this represented a significant financial blow to the school.

Remembering the good thing Julie Matthews did for us 2 years ago when we lost some money of our own, members of our Executive proposed that since we're in a postion to help out the Rainbow Lake Nursery School, we should see what we can do. A vote was taken and with an overwhelming "yes" the Executive has decided to donate $1000 to the Rainbow Lake Nursery School.

To the families of Rainbow Lake Nursey School, with our warmest wishes, have a great holiday season and happy new year.

Thanks to Julie Matthews too for her ongoing good work.

Santas Anonymous
November 20th - December 9th, 2006.

West Edmonton Playschool is proud to be participating in the 630 CHED Santas Anonymous 2006 toy drive. We have named our toy drive in honour of our former teacher Mrs. Pauline who passed away suddenly in November 2004.Pauline loved all children and we think this is a great way to remember her and help the thousands of families each year who look to CHED and the Edmonton Christmas Bureau to help make their child's Christmas a happy one.

All donations are greatly appreciated but this year donations of toys for age groups 1-2 years old, and 10-12 years old are needed. As always AA and AAA size batteries and colouring books and crayons are always useful. If you have any questions please contact Dawn, our Registrar.

CRAYOLA FUNDRAISER
October 21st.

We made around $450, thanks to your fundraising efforts.

WE HAVE OUR MONEY BACK !!!
October 6th.

Our refund cheque from Dell was delivered today. We owe a BIG BIG THANK YOU to Global TV's Troubleshooter, Julie Matthews for her interest and efforts in helping us to bring some action from Dell Canada. If you're interested in our Dell Saga, you can find the blog here.
Dell did make it right in the end, but it was a rough road to reach that end, that's for sure. Normally, Dell is well known for it's excellent customer service, but our issue just goes to show that, on occasion, mistakes do happen.

PLAYSCHOOL CARNIVAL
October 2nd
The Carnival was a great success. Thanks to all the parents and helpers that made it go so well. Special thanks to Crystal Tyce for putting it all together.
We even managed to make a few hundred dollars from it too as traditionally the Carnival is a loss for us, but it's oh so much fun for the kids. You can even see that the fundraising meter at the top of the page has nudged off the zero mark! Well done everyone.
